Viper is a post-processing tool performs a variety of post-simulation calculations on a variety of raw circuit simulation files. Viper(tm) is also the name of the post-simulation measurement language that provides capability for carrying out a wide variety of calculations on analog circuit simulation output files. Q. How do I get access to Viper and the waveform viewer? A. Viper and the waveform viewer are available free of charge to registered users. To register, please go to www.knowlent.com/viper_register.html and follow the instructions. Q. What is the cost to use Viper and the waveform viewer? A. The unsupported version available on the website is free. Q. How long will the license last? A. Licenses are renewed every 30 days. Q. What happens when my license expires? A. Simple log back into our site and request another download. Q. Is there a limit to the number of times I can download the software? A. No. Q. Do I need to have a corporate email address to download the software? A. Yes, gmail, aol, comcast, yahoo, google, hotmail and others will not be approved. Q. Is there a version of the software that has technical support? If so, how much does it cost? Will I still need to download the software every 30 days? A. Yes, you can sign up for technical support for Viper and the waveform viewer. Q. How much does technical support cost? A. Technical support is $2,000 per copy per year. It includes a 1-year license key. Q. If I have a suggestion about improving the software who do I contact? A. You can post the suggestion on the user forum or email us directly at support@knowlent.com Q. What if I have a need for an analysis that isn't included in the download. Is it possible for Knowlent to create one for me? A. We would be happy to work with you on additional analyses not available in the download. This would be quoted separately. Q. Which simulator output formats does Viper support? A. Currently, we support tr0, ac0 and psf formats. Q. Which Operating systems are supported? A. Viper works on Linux. It has been tested with kernals 2.4 and 2.6. Q. Do I have to be root to install the software? A. No. Viper and the waveform viewer can be installed in your local directory. Q. Can I write my own tests? A. Absolutely. Your download packet includes a Viper user manual and many examples that can help you with writing the tests.
